J. Harold “Tank” Strader, 73 Passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, June 15, 2026.

Harold was born in Rockingham County to the late Nathan Tankersley McGheehe Strader and Mary Alice Flynn. Harold spent more than 40 years behind the wheel as a dedicated truck driver, a career he took great pride in. When he wasn't on the road, he enjoyed spending time outdoors fishing and hunting, cheering on the Duke Blue Devils, and watching NASCAR races. He enjoyed listening to his 90s country music and purchasing the latest and greatest gadgets from amazon. He will be remembered for his hardworking spirit, love of the outdoors, and passion for the things that brought him joy.

He is survived by his brother, Frank Strader (Jane); sister, Brenda Ware (Dennis); special niece, Julie Eastwood (Steven); nieces, Heather Welch (Eric), Mae Ware; nephews, Scott Strader (Sandy) and Shaun Ware (Rachel); special friends, Bret and Glenna Reid as well as the Styons, Bowens, Warwells and the Witherspoons along with a loving group of extended family and friends.
