Irene Elizabeth Franklin Page

Reidsville: Irene Elizabeth Franklin Page, 93, of 1517 West Harrison Street, went home to be with The Lord on Saturday, May 14, 2016 at her home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at Wilkerson Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. The burial will follow in Greenview Cemetery. Irene was born October 16th 1922 in Eden, NC to the late Gordon and Jenny Franklin. She was preceded in death by her husband fondly known as “Page”, sister, Leana and brother, Howell. She was a graduate of Leaksville High School and Averette University. She was first employed by the Boy Scouts of America. She then moved to the Bank of Reidsville where she remained employed until she gave birth to her daughters, Anne Franklin Page then Jo Marie Page Chrismon. Her next endeavor found her employed with the Rockingham Clerk of Superior Court’s office. She ended her professional career with the Developmental Evaluation Center. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Flora Garden Club, Meals On Wheels and Bridge Club. She enjoyed countless years of traveling to Ocracoke with her best friend and husband, Page. Many additional years were happily spent traveling the world via air, land and seas with her group of best friends known as the “Merry Widows”. Memories of her will be enjoyed by her grandchildren, Ian and wife, Magan, Jake, Sasha and husband, John; great grandchildren, Hudson, Kate, Noah, Savannah and Belle; daughter’s, Jo Marie and Ann Franklin; son-in-law, Mike; daughter-in-law, Kim; Sitter Sisters, and dear friends, Jo Chilton and Joanna Gibbs.
