Ida Mae Edgell

Ida Mae Edgell, 84, passed away on Sunday, November 27, 2022, at her home in Reidsville

The family will hold a private family service on Wednesday, November 30, 2022.

Ida was born on June 26, 1938, to the late Leslie and Lillian Horner in Wetzel County, West Virginia. Later she met her husband, Francis “Bud” Edgell and then moved to North Carolina in 2001. Ida was a home maker and was known for her baking, cooking, big heart, and her ability to talk to anyone. She also loved to garden but more than anything she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Ida was loved by all and will be deeply missed by the many lives she touched.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband; Francis “Bud” Edgell; son, James Edgell; sister, Nelly Blake; brothers, Albert Horner and Don Blake.

Ida is survived by her daughters, Fran Smith and Pam Boston (George); daughter-in-law; Sheila Edgell; grandchildren, James Edgell (Michelle), Adam Edgell, Justin Smith, Amanda Branson (Alex), Bruce Edgell (Emily), Kiersten Boston, Haley Boston, and Zachary Boston; great-grandchildren, Ava Edgell, Preston Edgell, Kane Branson and Abby Edgell; sister’s, Mary Jane Blake and Ruth White.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Rockingham County, HRC at PO Box 281, Wentworth, NC  27375.
