Herbert Jean Campbell

Herbert Jean Campbell, 74, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 30, 2022, at Annie Penn Hospital.

At Herbert’s request, there will not be any formal funeral services.

Herbert was born to the late Aron and Ora Campbell on May 8, 1948, in Caswell County. He worked in textiles for all of his life and retired from Frontier Spinning, but his true passion was farming and gardening. Herbert loved Western books and movies, listening to the “golden oldies”, and reading the Bible. He will be remembered as a kind and loving husband, father, and “Papa”.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Curry Campbell, Howard Campbell, Alvis Campbell, Jesse Campbell, Louise Criscoe, Julius Campbell and Austin Campbell.

Herbert is survived by his wife of 54 years, Shirley Campbell; children, Eugene Campbell (Ana), Wesley Campbell, and Sharon Knight (Tim); grandchildren, Ashley Knight (Graham Pigg), Justin Knight (Allyson), Britney Massey (Brandon), Crystal Knight, Michael Campbell, David Campbell, Kaylah Robinson (Chris Riley); great-grandchildren, Ben Massey, Sophia Massey, Nathalie Massey, Conner Lawson, Sam Massey, Rose Massey, Allison Massey, Stephen Pigg, Cara Pigg, Whitney Knight and Carson Riley; sister, Dorothy Wade, in addition to numerous nieces and nephews.
