Helen Marie Witty Pickrell

Helen Witty Pickrell, 87, went to be with the Lord on Sunday February 1, 2026.

A funeral service will be held at Wilkerson Funeral Home on Thursday, February 5th at 1:00 PM, with a visitation one hour prior at 12:00 PM with Reverend Marvin Bowman officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memory Gardens.

Helen was born in Rockingham County, North Carolina, to the late Charlie Witty and Lucy Combs Witty.

She retired from Creighton after 20 plus years of service. She loved to be outside enjoying all her flowers.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her son-in-law William (Billy) Childress; grandchildren, Jay Wilson, Shannon Reece; brothers, Franklin and John Witty,; sister; Doris Farmer.

Helen is survived by her daughters, Deloris Wilson (Jim) of Burlington, NC, Angela Childress of Reidsville, NC; brother, Lee Witty of the home, She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, along with special friends, Peggy and John Doman of Reidsville and Grand Dog, Precious.
