Helen Manley Talley

Reidsville – Helen M. Talley, 85, of 199 Manley Farm Road, died on Friday, May 23, 2008, at Penn Nursing Center. Funeral services will be held Monday, May 26 2008, at 11:00 AM. at Lowes United Methodist Church and the burial will follow in Reidlawn Cemetery, with Rev. Dale Swofford officiating. Mrs. Talley was born in Rockingham County to the late Lloyd and Berta Hooper Manley. She was retired from J.C. Penney after 31 years of service. She was a member of Lowes United Methodist Church where she was member of the Lowes United Methodist Women. She enjoyed gardening and especially loved her flowers. Mrs. Talley was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Dale Talley and brothers, Johnson, Francis and Vernon Manley. She is survived by her husband, Wilbur Talley of the home; daughter, Gayle Talley Niemczura and husband, Joe of Reidsville; granddaughters, Krissy Niemczura and husband, David McCollum of Stoneville and Julie Niemczura-Aiken and husband, Scott of Wilmington, NC; great grandson, Aaron Dale McCollum of Stoneville; brother, Kearns Manley and wife, Sadie of Reidsville; half brothers, Jack Manley and wife, Jane of Greensboro, NC and Jerry Manley and wife Margie of Reidsville; half sister, Jeannine Barford and husband, George of Reidsville; sisters-in-law, Marian Manley and Shine Woodson both of Reidsville; brother-in-law, Fred Talley and wife, Peggy of Mebane, NC; numerous nieces and nephews. The family will meet with friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home on Sunday, May 25, 2008, from 7-9 PM and other times will be at Gayle’s home (163 Manley Farm Road). Memorial contributions may be made to Lowes United Methodist Church, 3191 NC Hwy 87 Business, Reidsville, NC   27320.
