Harry Lee, a Reidsville native was born on May 21, 1938, to the late Lena Mae and Harry Lindsey Harrelson. He is a retiree of American Tobacco Company, where he worked for 20+ years. Harry Lee married Betty in 1959 and the two of them shared 65 years of marriage. The two together had three children, Tammie, Timmie, and Amy. From an early age, he would take his children to the race track where the family's love for racing would begin. He enjoyed spending time with his family, wood-working, racing, telling jokes, helping Timmie with his stews, and attending his grandchildren's sporting events. There was nothing he enjoyed more than going to the dirt track to watch his son, Timmie and grandson Dalton, race. He loved being at the race shop where he enjoyed supervising and joking around with all of the crew members.
There will be many stories and memories about his jokes and sense of humor. Harry Lee was an active member of Thompsonville Baptist Church where he loved to sing in the choir, the quartet, and drive the church van. There is nothing he loved more than his wife and family. He always said he was a blessed man. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his eldest daughter, Tammie Lee Harrelson. Harry Lee is survived by his wife of 65 years, Betty; son Timmie Harrelson (Alison); daughter Amy Jacobs (Tim); grandchildren, Jason Blackwell, Amber Child (Brandon), Ashlie Lovelace (John), Kassi & Dalton Jacobs; great-grandchildren Jacob, Kailyn, Gage, Skylar, Grae, Kallie Jane, Lainee & Ada; sister-in-law Rachel Stanley; special to his heart Meredith, Aubrey, and Presley; and a large extended family.
