Glenna McClung Chaney, 82, of Reidsville, passed away peacefully in the comfort of her own bed, surrounded by the warmth and love of her family, on Friday, October 16, 2026.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, at Roselawn Cemetery, with Reverend Pete Hutchens officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Wilkerson Funeral Home and other times at the home.
Glenna was born in Beckley, West Virginia, to the late Leslie Walker McClung and Susan “Susie” Aaron McClung.
Glenna was a strong, beautiful, and caring woman with a wonderful sense of humor, a contagious laugh, and a smile that could light up a room. She loved joking, telling stories, and sharing memories of her childhood, often bringing out old photographs to share with her family. Proud of her West Virginia heritage and her grandfather’s work as a coal miner, she especially enjoyed returning to West Virginia to visit. Glenna loved traveling with her husband, with St. Augustine, Florida, being one of her favorite destinations. She was known for her honesty, sometimes telling you exactly what she thought, but always with a loving heart. Above all, she cherished her family and especially enjoyed spending time with her great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, William Ashley Chaney Jr.; son, Brad Chaney; brothers, Glenn McClung and Steve McClung; and sisters, Brilla Mae London, Wilda Faye Martin, and Shelby Jean Evans.
She is survived by her children, Pamela Chaney Graham and husband David, William Ashley Chaney III, and Karen Chaney Waller; grandchildren, Kristin Mabe Pebelske, Dustin Mabe, William Ashley Chaney IV, Dillon Chaney, Jackie Chaney, Samantha Walker, and Christopher Paschal; and 11 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ancora Compassionate Care (formerly Hospice), P.O. Box 281, Wentworth, NC 27375.
