Gary Mitchel Rudd

Reidsville – Gary Mitchel Rudd, 67, of 1526 Barnes Street, died after a three month illness, Thursday, April 23, 2008, at Penn Nursing Center. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, April 27, 2008 at Wilkerson Funeral Home with Pastor Billy Dove officiating.  Interment will follow in Reidlawn Cemetery with Military graveside rites. Mr. Rudd was born to the late Graham Gregory and Elizabeth Mitchell Rudd. He was a veteran serving in the US Air Force. Mr. Rudd was employed with the City of Greensboro as a Lake Warden and was certified with the Greensboro City Police. He served at Lake Townsend for 15 years and later retired after serving 27 years at Lake Bryant in 1999. He also served with the Rockingham County Sheriff’s department. He was the Agitate for the American Legion of Reidsville for many years. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Danielle “Dani” Fields and his brother, James Gregory. He is survived by his wife, Jan Burton Rudd of the home; son, Frank “Butch” Allen Rudd and wife, Marie of Mayodan, NC; daughter, Carolyn Rudd Stallings and husband, Gary of Rock Hill, SC; grandchildren, Richard Dean Rudd, US Navy, stationed in CA, Rusty Alan Rudd, US Army, stationed in Iraq and Rebecca Ann Fields of Greensboro; great grandchildren, Adrian, Racheal and Gabriel Garcia and Kenley Rudd; adopted father, Jesse B. Rudd of Fayetteville, NC; and brother, Jim Gregory of PA. The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home on Saturday, April 26 from 7-9 PM and other times at the residence.
