Gary Lee Laster

Gary Lee Laster, 71, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 6, 2026.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Redemption Road Baptist Church, located at 2131 NC-14, Reidsville, NC 27320. Pastor Daniel Bray will officiate the service. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 a.m. At other times, the family will be at the home of his daughter, Angela.

Gary loved his dog, Coco, and enjoyed spending time attending car shows. He was a devoted member of Redemption Road Baptist Church and found great joy in worship services, gospel singing, and revivals. Gary was a simple man who treasured the things that mattered most in life. He and his wife, Susan, enjoyed spending time together, and he cherished every moment they shared. Above all, Gary loved his family deeply and was happiest when surrounded by those he loved.

Gary was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 46 years, Susan Laster, and by his parents, Garland and Geneva Laster.

He is survived by his daughter, Angela Thomas (B.J.); grandsons, Chris Thomas (J.V.) and Josh Thomas (Annie); sister, Sissy L Isley; nephew, Sammy Isley (Christie); great-nephew, Jordan Isley; and great-niece, Kayla Isley.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at 501 St. Jude Place ,Memphis, TN 38105
