Gary Steven Johnson

Reidsville, NC – Gary Steven Johnson, 54, of 190 Teal Drive, died Sunday, June 15, 2008, at his residence. Funeral Service will be held at 5:00 PM Thursday, June 19, 2008 at Wilkerson Funeral home chapel with Rev. Bland Leebrick and Rev. George Fox officiating. A graveside committal service will be held in Evergreen Cemetery in Louisville, KY on Friday, June 20, at 3:00 PM Mr. Johnson was born in Louisville, KY to the Late Jack B. and Lillian Ladelle Warren Johnson. He graduated from Dupont Manual High School in 1971 and attended Jefferson Community College.   He retired from Lorillard Tobacco with 36 years of service, was of the Baptist Faith and was formerly a volunteer for Hospice of Rockingham County. He is survived by his wife, Joni Riley Johnson of the home: son,  Sgt. Christopher S. Johnson,   US Air Force, Guam, Phillip D. Johnson of Louisville, KY; step daughters, Erica Fitzmayer of Guyton, GA and Kimberly Embry of Thomasville, NC; granddaughter, Alycia Johnson, Guam; sister, Lisa L. Stevens of Louisville, KY. The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 18, from 6-8 PM.   Other times the family will be at the residence and at the home of lisa Stephens in Louisville after the graveside service.
