Evelyn Moire Walker Stone

Evelyn Moire Walker Stone went to her heavenly home on June 8, 2022.  

A graveside service will be held at Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church Cemetery on July 13, 2022 at 11:00 AM with the Rev. Eric Lineberry officiating.

Evelyn was born in the Williamsburg community of Rockingham County on July 7, 1921 to Luther M. Walker and Annie Florence Walters Walker. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Henry W. Stone, her son Donald M. Stone, and sisters, Annie W. McAlister, Reavely W. Williams and Emma W. Adams.

She is survived by her son Larry and Amelia Stone of Frisco TX, grandchildren Scott and Vanessa Stone of Dallas TX, Courtney and Dr. William Sachs of Lawrence Kansas and Matthew Stone of Reidsville; great-grandchildren Porter and Natalie Stone, Amelia and Mary Jane Sachs.

Evelyn was a 1939 graduate of Reidsville High School and was a member of Mt Carmel UMC for over 80 years. She had lived the last 80 years in the Oregon Hill Community.  Evelyn was employed by G.B.Green and N.C. Gas Service for many years.
