Jeannie Lasley

Eugenia “Jeannie” Lasley, 68, passed away on Saturday, April 30, 2022, at UNC Hospice House in Pittsboro, NC.

A funeral service will be held at 5:00PM on Wednesday, May 4, 2022, at Wilkerson Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 4-5:00PM.

Jeannie was born to Naomi Gillie Clayton and Ralph Alonzo Clayton, Sr. on January 7, 1954, in Reidsville, NC. She worked as an Orthopedic Technologist at Rockingham Orthopedics and later in Human Resources administration at the University of North Carolina Greensboro. She was also a volunteer with Girl Scouts and Hospice of Rockingham County. Jeannie enjoyed sewing, baking, teaching, and sharing her time and love of crafting with others. Jeannie will be remembered as a selfless, loving and giving mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, and friend.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph “Bill” Lasley; father, Ralph Clayton, Sr.; stepfather, Thomas Long. Jeannie is survived by her daughter, Laura Viera and husband Anthony; mother, Naomi  Long; grandchildren, Lily Tuttle, Kristen Viera and Kaitlyn Viera; brother, Ralph Clayton, Jr.; sisters, Ruby Clayton, Susie Hook and Kelly Martin; step-brother, Greg Long; step-sisters, Pam Messenger, Patsy Long, Debbie Utterback and Jackie Long; in addition to numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family.
