Estella Husak Crane

Reidsville –  Estella Husak Crane passed away on Friday April 25, 2008 at 5:15 in the evening. She passed away at the Penn Nursing Center, Reidsville, North Carolina.   Mrs. Crane was a resident of Brown Summit, North Carolina for the past 27 years. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, April 28, 2008 at Wilkerson Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 AM one hour prior to the service. Mrs. Crane was born in Wellsburg, West Virginia on May 2, 1933 to the late Joseph Husak and Aneda Ellringham Darrah. Mrs. Crane is survived by three sisters, Doris Cawthorn White of Colliers, WV, Karen Darrah Woodburn of Beech Bottom, WV and Kathy Darrah Walnoha of Wellsburg, WV. She is also survived by two Godchildren, Jonathan Royce Hicks along with his spouse Stacey Thompson Hicks of Brown Summit, NC and Jamie Hicks Gunter along with her spouse Eric Shawn Gunter and two great-god children, Isabella Kate Gunter and Lauren Sarah Gunter of Gastonia, NC.   Mrs. Crane is also survived by 3 nieces and 7 nephews. Mrs. Crane is preceded in death by her husband, Clayton Clifford Crane.   Clayton Crane was a Chief Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force and served in World War II, Vietnam and Korea.   Clayton and Estella were married for 43 years before his death in 1993. She was a member of The Christian Church of Wellsburg, WV and a homemaker. Estella enjoyed quilting and in her spare time made many treasured family heirlooms.   She traveled extensively as a military wife. She was loved dearly by her family and friends and will be terribly missed. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Mrs. Crane’s honor to Hospice of Rockingham County, P.O.
