Condolences to Joyce and family on the passing of an impressive woman. Great Aunt Ellen was one of my earliest encounters with feminism — formidable, smart, a community leader, a role model to all. She was breaking ceilings and pushing the image and ideal of a strong woman in a vastly different social culture than what we modern women take for granted today. My dad, Jerry, always admired & respected his aunt, sharing those sentiments frequently over the years. She’s leaving wonderful memories and still is a role model and inspiration through the stories we share of her. Rest In Peace.

I had the honor of being with Ellen for the last several years at Brookdale. First she came as a volunteer and then a resident. We made many wonderful memories over the years. Love and Prayers to her family.

Ms. Ellen was a neighbor of mine for years. She was such a sweet lady. She would always visit my late husband, whom was battling cancer at that time and she would bring him slices of pound cake or slices of lemon cake. Prayers for her family.
