Elizabeth "Betty" Lemons Barham

Elizabeth “Betty” Lemons Barham, 85, of Reidsville, passed away Saturday, October 31, 2026.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, November 3, 2026, at Speedwell Presbyterian Church Cemetery with Pastor Phil Surrett officiating.

Betty was born in Rockingham County to the late Ruffin Eugene Lemons and Lois Gunn Lemons. She loved gardening and had a special passion for flowers. She also enjoyed writing poetry. Above all, she cherished spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a phenomenal cook, and her family will especially miss her homemade biscuits and meals. She always made sure everyone was well-fed before heading out to work in the tobacco fields. For Betty, cooking was just one of the many ways she showed her love for her family.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her brother, Roger “Bud” Lemons. She is survived by her daughter, Judy Barham; sons, Kevin Barham and Jeff Barham and wife Cheryl; grandchildren, Dustin and wife Taylor, Chevy, James, and Caleb and wife Nicole; and great-grandchildren, River and Rowan.
