Edith Lucille Lackey Smith

Reidsville: Edith L. Smith, 94, of The Oakes at Forsyth of Winston-Salem, died Tuesday, September 16, 2008. A graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, September 19, 2008, in Reidlawn Cemetery with Rev. Billy Linthicum officiating. Mrs. Smith was born in Randolph County to the late Milton and Minnie McDowell Lackey. She lived in Reidsville for many years, was a homemaker and moved to Deland, Florida in 1957. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Caldwell C. Smith. She is survived by her son, Terre Smith and wife, Judy of East Bend, NC; daughter, Carolyn Perkins and husband, Martin of Andrews, NC; grandchildren, Carl Perkins and wife, Wendy of Vista, CA, Chris Perkins and wife, Lindsey of Flowery Branch, GA, Craig Perkins and wife, Wendy of Clairmont, FL, Parker Normann and husband, Kel of Sanford, NC, Todd Smith and wife, Natalie of Winston-Salem, NC; 12 great grandchildren and brother, D. M. Lackey and wife, Gerrie of Deland, FL. The family will receive friends Thursday, September 18, 2008, at Wilkerson Funeral Home from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.
