Dorothy Watkins Clymer

Dorothy Watkins Clymer, 95, of Reidsville went home to be with the Lord on Friday, February 20, 2026. A private family service will be held at a later date. Burial will be at Reidlawn Cemetery.

Dorothy was born in Rockingham County to the late Rufus H. Watkins and Bessie Knight Watkins. She was a devoted mother who found joy in caring for others and always put her family first. Her life was firmly grounded in her faith, which guided her through both joyful and difficult seasons. Today, she has seen Jesus.

In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas F. Clymer; her son, Brian Lee Clymer; her brothers, William Watkins, Franklin Watkins, and Rufus Watkins, Jr.; and her sisters, Schelvia Bennett and Elizabeth Taylor.

Dorothy is survived by her son, Butch Clymer and wife Janey; daughter-in-law, Patsy Clymer; sister-in-law, Wanda Blake; and numerous nieces and nephews.
