Donald Cornelius West

Reidsville – Donald C. West, 93, of 402 Ransom Street, died Saturday, August 30, 2008 at Avante at Reidsville. A Funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM Friday, September 5, 2008 at Wilkerson Funeral Home with Rev. Tom Worley officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memory Gardens. Mr. West was born in Chicago, Il to the late Louis M. and Harriet Hogan West. He served in the Merchant Marines during WWII and retired as a tool and dye maker with Houdaille Hydraulic. He received a degree in theology from Baptist Bible Seminary and was a member of Community Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Leah Allyn West; daughter, Dorothy June West; 6 nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Other times the family will be at the residence.
