David Lee Hundley

David Lee Hundley, 69, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday August 24, 2022 at Annie Penn Hospital.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, August 27, 2022 at Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Eric Lineberry officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Carmel United Methodist Church Cemetery. 

The family will see friends on Friday evening from 5-7 PM at the funeral home and other times they will be at the home.

David was born in Rockingham County to the late Dillard Samuel and Virginia Pearl Harris Hundley. He was a thirty-year retired employee of the NC DOT. David was a charter member of the Oregon Hill Volunteer Fire Department with forty-six years of active service and a former employee of Wilkerson Funeral Home. He was a member of Happy Home Christian Church. David enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and traveling to North Myrtle Beach for beach music festivals. The greatest joy of his life was spending time with his two granddaughters.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, James “Jimmy “ Hundley and sister, Mary Frances Walker and father-in-law Penn Allen.

Survivors include his loving wife of forty-eight years Robin Allen Hundley; son Adam Hundley and wife Ali; granddaughters Madi and Maci Hundley; mother-in-law Geneva Allen; brother-in-law Wayne Walker; sister-in-law Martha Carter and husband Keith; many nieces and nephews and his fur baby Dutch.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Oregon Hill Volunteer Fire Department, 858 Mt. Carmel Church Road, Reidsville, NC 27320.
