My deepest sympathy to the family. I have such fond memories of him for many years....from when I was a kid living on the Eastern Shore and he and Betty and Peggy and Lee would come visit to more recently when he and Lee would come visit my brother, Gerald, and theyd all go fishing. Such a wonderful man with the biggest heart. May your memories help fill your hearts and know that he meant a lot to a lot of people. Pease be with you all. Donna Murray Caras

We all have circles of friends and family. David was in our inner circle. He was a very loving person who gave love unconditionally to his family and friends. He was very forgiving and not the type person to hold a grudge or seek revenge. I loved having him over for meals and gatherings. He loved my cooking and was someone you could always count on to be positive and pleasant no matter what other guests were present. Every one got along with him. Craig never had a close relationship with his own father so David was the father figure in his life. He was the person he discussed home improvements and gardening and life struggles with. He often turned to him for his advice and opinions. Both of my girls called him Papa because he filled the void of a grandfather for them as well. We all loved David very very much. And I knew he loved us all as well. I really dont understand how anybody could not love such a sweet and gentle soul. I never heard him speak harshly of anyone. He worked very hard all of his life providing for his family. Now he is at rest. May we all learn to love others the way David did. He will be missed. No one can fill the void he leaves in our lives. His sense of humor was awesome. He loved to laugh and make others laugh. He especially like to pick on his sister Sarah. I was looking at a picture today of him standing beside a snowman that he made and said it was her. We all got a good laugh out of that one. But I am confident he is in heaven right now, not because of his good heart but because of his love and relationship with Jesus Christ. I know we will see him on the other side. Until then we love and miss you Papa David.
