David Andrew Fettig

David Andrew Fettig, 67, of 1788 US 29 Business passed away peacefully with Samantha by his side, releasing him to go home to be with The Lord.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at Wilkerson Funeral Home with Pastor Dennis Chapmon and Minister Mike Green officiating. The burial will follow at Evergreen Memory Gardens with Military graveside honors performed by the Rockingham County Honor Guard. Also, the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at the home.
Dave was born in Hartford, CT and was the son of the late Olga Cooley and Raymond Fettig. He was a tradesman and “Jack of All Trades” working in the construction industry most of his career. He was an avid outdoorsman and especially enjoyed fishing. David served in the Special Forces during the Vietnam Conflict and was involved in rescuing over 80 POW’s. He loved antiques and spent hours restoring furniture. He was gifted with his hands, working with anything that needed a little TLC. Along with his parents he was also preceded in death by his parents in law whom he loved like is own parents, Buck and Barbara Palmer.
Dave is survived by his wife, Samantha Palmer Fettig; his children Chris Fettig and wife Kelsey, Tina Giambattista, and Rebecca Fettig; grandchildren Alice, Madelyn, Oliver, and Angelo, Jr.; brother Michael Fettig and wife Editha; sister Debbie Cooley; special niece Jeny Cooley; and extended family.
