A Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, March 9, 2026, at Smyrna Presbyterian Church, with Pastor Tom Wray officiating. Burial will follow in the Smyrna Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the sanctuary one hour prior to the service, beginning at 1:00 p.m.
Dale was born in Rockingham County to the late John Linuel and Virginia Parker Troxler. In addition to her parents, Dale was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, William Edward Crowder, and her brother, Dennis Troxler.
She is survived by her son, Jason Brent Crowder and wife Dow, and her granddaughter, Lillian Belle Crowder, who was the light of her life.
Also surviving are her brother, Larry Troxler and wife Gale, and sister-in-law, Rita Troxler. She is also survived by members of her husband’s family: his sister, Betty Crowder Powell; his brothers, Harold Crowder, Don Crowder, Bobby Crowder, and Gregory Crowder and wife Carol; and his sister-in-law, Betty Crowder, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Dale was a long-standing member of Smyrna Presbyterian Church, where she served faithfully as an Elder and Clerk of Session for several terms. She also enjoyed singing in the choir.
She worked for over 30 years at Rockingham County Health and Human Services, retiring the summer her granddaughter was born so she could devote all her energy to the love, cuddles, and enthusiastic dress, hairbow, and toy buying for said child.
She was a devoted wife and mother and was fiercely loved by her family.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Smyrna Presbyterian Church, c/o Ann Dixon, 291 Crowder Road, Madison, NC 27025.
