Cynthia "Cindy" East Tate

Cynthia “Cindy” East Tate, 64, of Reidsville, NC, passed away on Sunday, December 21, 2025.

A graveside service will be held at 2 pm, Saturday, December 27, 2025 at Dan River Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, with Pastor Noah Hooper officiating. The family will receive friends at the home of her daughter, Sharley Hunnicutt, located at 2428 Moir Mill Road, Reidsville.

Born on June 22, 1961, in Danville, Virginia, Cindy was the daughter of Glenn Washington East, Jr. and Lucy Young East. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Charlie Ray Tate (1988).

Cindy shared her life with her devoted husband, George Tate, Sr., whose steadfast companionship remained a constant source of comfort and support throughout their years together. She is survived by her daughter, Sharley Hunnicutt, and her husband, Adam, as well as her stepson, Ronnie Tate, Jr. She treasured every moment spent with her grandchildren, Sadie Hunnicutt and Caleb Hunnicutt, and held a special place in her heart for her stepgrandson, Tyler Tate (Hannah). She was also blessed with two greatgranddaughters, Claire Tate and Lainey Tate.

Cindy is lovingly remembered by her siblings: Brenda Bailey, Sandra East, Wanda Yeatts, Ronnie East and Allen East, along with many beloved nieces and nephews whom she cherished deeply. Each sibling held a meaningful place in her life, and the bond they shared remained one of her most enduring blessings.

The family is grateful for the many prayers, words of comfort, and kindness shared with them during this time of loss.
