Curtis Lee Perdue, 75, of Reidsville, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 9, 2023.
Curtis was born in Rockingham County to the late Willie Lee and Jennie Sharp Perdue and spent his life in the Bethany community. He served in the Public Works Department for the City of Reidsville for over 30 years and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. After retirement, he worked at Tarheel Towing for around 10 years. He loved his family more than anything and was a loving father and grandfather. He was a member of Piedmont Baptist Church and was a faithful church go-er. He loved to travel, especially to go to Mayberry Days. Among other hobbies, he loved to play cards, was an avid fisherman and enjoyed antique cars. For those close to him, Curtis was a jokester, who gave everyone a nickname. He will be truly missed by everyone who knew him.
In addition to his parents, Curtis is preceded in death by his brother, Cecil Perdue; and sisters, Elizabeth Finney and Nancy May; and granddaughter, Victoria Scott.
Curtis is survived by his significant other, Ann David; daughters, Patricia and husband, Steven, and Kimberly and husband Willie; mother of his children, Janice Vogler; grandchildren, Donovan Scott, Aaron Scott, Lee Harris, Bethany Conklin; great-grandchildren, Nathan Scott and Gabriel Schoolfield; and brother, Larry Perdue.
A funeral will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, April 14th at Wilkerson Funeral Home with Pastor Duane King officiating. Burial will follow at New Lebanon Church. The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 13th from 5PM to 7PM at Wilkerson Funeral Home and other times at his home, at 8350, US Highway 158, Reidsville, NC 27320.
