Colt was born in Reidsville, NC on October 21, 1999, to Chris and Jaime Hardy. He graduated from Rockingham County High School and was a member of the baseball team. He was currently serving in the US Army Active Duty, with the First Armored Brigade Combat Team in Fort Bliss, TX. Colt lived life to the fullest and was very intentional to always be considerate of others. He had a huge heart, and his sensitive spirit was the light that encouraged his family and friends. Even at a young age, Colt would want to stop and reach out to the less fortunate. He was a fierce friend, kindhearted and could always make you laugh even in difficult times. His infectious smile would always light up the room. Colt was an inspiration to his family and friends and was loved by more people in his short 21 years than most will be in a lifetime. The purity of his soul and the love in his heart made him different from the cruel world he had to live in. Colt was an amazing soldier, leader, and friend, always making the goofiest faces and cheering up anyone that needed encouragement.

Colt is survived by his mother Jaime Hardy; father Chris Hardy; sisters Madison and Grace Hardy; brother Mason Farr; maternal grandmother Jeri Adkins and husband Larry; maternal grandfather Dwayne Nykamp and wife Cindy; paternal grandmother Susie McLemore; paternal grandfather Ronald L. Hardy; aunts & uncles Nikki Hodges and husband Todd, Jarrett Nykamp and fiancé Heidi, and Randy Hardy and wife Darlene; cousins Austin Dailey and wife Katie, Spencer Dailey and fiancé Madison, Gavin Nykamp, Cameron Hardy and wife Sydney, Madeline Hardy, and Macy Hardy; and girlfriend Kaitlyn Acord.
