Cathy Lynn Brown

Cathy Lynn Brown, 71, of Reidsville, went to be with the Lord on Monday, June 15, 2026. 

Cathy was born in Surry County to Edd and Nona McCreary. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a beautiful, selfless, loyal, fiercely protective, and stubborn lady who always put others before herself. She was a fighter in life and always had words of encouragement. She enjoyed playing games with family, reading books, spending quality time watching movies, and listening to music. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elwood Wayne Brown, her mother, Nona Sue McCreary, and her father, Edd Lee McCreary Jr. 

She is survived by brother Ed McCreary of St. George SC, brother Michael McCreary of Eden; daughter, Patricia Thacker (Steven) of Reidsville; daughter, Debra Baumann (Phillip) of Eden; son, Kenneth Brown (Crystal) of Reidsville; grandchildren, Austin, Cameron, Paige, Ashlyn, Brandon, Grayson, and Samuel; step-grandchildren, Phillip Jr., Zachary, Colin; great-grandchildren, Pyper, and Cameron Jr.; Niece, Katie McCreary Warren.
