She was the first president of the Monroeton Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, a proud member of the Monroeton Garden Club, card ministry and active in the American Business Women’s Association.

Carolyn worked for Blue Bell Industries (Wrangler) and Annie Penn Hospital, where she retired as Business Manager in 1978. Carolyn was a woman of deep faith and gentle spirit. Her kindness, generosity, and love for others were the hallmarks of her life. She never had a harsh word to say and made everyone who entered her home feel welcome. She loved her family, extended family, and her many friends dearly. She found joy in the simple things – her flowers, her collection of birdhouses and frogs, and cooking Monday night dinners for her family. Holidays and birthdays were especially dear to her, filled with warmth, laughter, and her famous home-cooked meals. Her home was warm and festive, decorated for every holiday and season. Music brough her endless joy. She cherished choir specials at church, Christmas programs, and her self-playing piano. She will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her love of family, her gentle laughter, and her ability to make everyone feel loved.
