Carole Bradsher Moore, 70, of 630 Mayfield Road, passed away on Thursday, April 29, 2021 at Annie Penn Hospital.
A celebration of life will be held at 10:00AM Saturday, May 8, 2021 at Wilkerson Funeral Home. Immediately following, the service will continue at the barn, 630 Mayfield Road, Ruffin.
Carole was born in Rockingham County to the late Robert Lindsay Bradsher and Authorise Davenport Bradsher. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband and lifelong best friend, Leonard Earl Moore.
Survivors are her children, Russell Leonard Moore and Shelby Jeannette Moore and fiancé, Melissa Poole; grandchildren, Francis Joseph Moore and wife, Tiffany, Katherine Jeannette French and fiancé, Corey Biggs, Lauren Ann Bivins, and Autumn Joy Moore; great grandchildren, Ally Claire Joyce, Jackson Joseph Moore, and Harper Shaye Biggs; sister, Annette Bradsher and brother, Bill Bradsher.
She was a graduate of Bethany High School where she excelled in basketball and softball. In her younger years she showed cattle in 4H and later became a 4H leader and helped develop the Rockingham County 4H horse program. She coached many 4H members to the state and national level. She was a member of the North Carolina 4H horse advisory board and was inducted into the North Carolina 4H Hall of Fame.
She and Leonard started Chestnut Hill Stables in 1972 where they developed a thriving horse business and farmed tobacco.
