Carl Atkins

Reidsville – Carl J. Atkins, 88, of Jacob’s Creek Nursing and Rehabilitation, passed away on Thursday, June 5, 2014. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 7, 2014 at Reidlawn Cemetery with Pastor Calvin Adams officiating. Carl was born in Prince Edward County, Virginia to the late Ross and Frances Jackson Atkins. He was a veteran of the US Navy and a self employed logger. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Taylor and 7 siblings. Survivors include his daughter, Vivian Shelton and husband, Tracey; step daughter, Barbara Page; three grandchildren; three great grandchildren and sister, Frances Compton.
