Buddy James Smith

Buddy James Smith, 88, departed this earthly home for his heavenly one on October 15, 2025.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, October 19, 2025, at Wilkerson Funeral Home with Rev. Gene Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Memory Gardens.

Buddy was born in Caswell County to the late Robert Edward Smith and Rena Cobb Smith. He graduated from Reidsville High School in 1955. He was affectionately known as “Conway” by his friends and was a member of the Grand Image Band for many years, where he sang, wrote songs and played the guitar. Buddy retired from Sears in Greensboro and ran a repair shop out of his home for fishing rods and reels.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Louise Smith; an infant son, Todd; a brother, Gene and sister, Kathleen.

He is survived by his sister, Peggy Ford; nephew, Dwayne Smith and wife, Kay and their children, Hope and Luke.

He was lovingly taken care of by his nephew, Dwayne and his family for the past year.
