Billy Graham Witherspoon

Billy Graham Witherspoon, 86, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 16, 2026.

A family visitation will be held at Wilkerson Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM. A graveside service will follow at Evergreen Memory Gardens.

Billy was born in Wilkes County, North Carolina, to the late Sidney and Nell Witherspoon. He was an avid golfer who enjoyed spending time on the course whenever he had the opportunity. When he wasn’t golfing, Billy could often be found working in his yard, something he took great pride in and truly enjoyed. He was also a hopeless do-it-yourselfer, always willing to tackle a project himself and convinced there wasn’t much he couldn’t figure out along the way. Above all, Billy treasured his family and the time spent with those he loved.

In addition to his parents, Billy was preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 years, Linda Jean Witherspoon; and brothers, Dale, Tom, and Jim Witherspoon.

Billy is survived by his children, Heather Witherspoon Wagoner and husband, David, Adam Witherspoon and wife, Valerie, and Jason Witherspoon and wife, Lauren; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brother, George Witherspoon; as well as a large and loving extended family and many dear friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Billy’s memory to Special Olympics of Alamance County, 3916 R. Dean Coleman Road, Burlington, NC 27215.
