Billy Eugene Southard

Billy Eugene Southard, 68, of Reidsville, went home to be with the Lord on February 25, 2026.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at 12:00 P.M. at Wilkerson Funeral Home with Pastor Nathan Chapmon officiating. The family will receive friends the night before from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.

Billy, lovingly known as “Papa Billy,” treasured time spent with his granddaughters, who brought endless joy to his life. He never met a stranger and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. A very skilled carpenter by trade, Billy took pride in his work and the craftsmanship he leaves behind.

He found peace in the simple pleasures of life like fishing and trips to the mountains, and enjoying a good home-cooked meal. He was known for his sense of humor and playful spirit, always ready with a joke to make others smile. Billy also dearly loved his faithful dogs, Bubba and Lil-Bit, who were constant companions.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Billy Southard, Sr. and Hacie Benfield; and his brothers, Steve, Robert, Ronnie, and Mark.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving sons, Tim Southard (Amanda) and Robbie Southard (Ashley); his beloved granddaughters, Alexis and Makenzie Southard; his sister, Debbie Bateman (Derwood); and his cherished dogs, Bubba and Lil-Bit.
