Betty was born in Carlisle, Kentucky on January 24, 1940, to Ben and Fay (Riggsby) Faulkner. When she was still a young girl, her family moved to Fairborn, Ohio. Even though she was an only child, she had two life-long friends who were as close as sisters: Phyllis Terry and Vivian (Bibs) Taylor of Ohio. Excelling in typing, Betty joined the civil service working with the US Air Force at Wright Patterson AFB in Dayton, Ohio. After moving to Reidsville in 1981, Betty worked for Larry Leonard at Allstate Insurance Agency. Betty had several very close friends in the Reidsville area including Barbara Joyce and family, Denise Young, Cheryl Cook, Betty Ashley, and Glenna and Bret Reid. Betty’s warmth, faith and love for her family and friends will be deeply missed and remembered by all who knew her.
