Ann Allison Martin passed into the presence of her Saviour on “Thursday”, August 13, 2026 while surrounded by friends and loved ones. Ann was comfortable around everyone and usually kept the conversation lively. She was a wealth of knowledge about many topics, not limited to medicine, nursing, and real estate. A funeral service will be held at Wilkerson Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 18, 2026 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Matthew Jones officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. A graveside committal will follow the service at Evergreen Memory Gardens.
Ann attended Reidsville City Schools through high school, then attended the “St. Luke’s Hospital School of Nursing” in Denver, Colorado. She was employed by Richardson, Payne, Whitley and Lothian in Reidsville, NC. She also worked for “Econ-O-Med Pharmaceuticals”, and Doctors Lusk, Townsend, Carb and Neijston in Guilford and Rockingham counties.
Ann served as president and Vice-President of the “Greensboro Federated Women’s Club”. She also kept busy with hobbies, such as photography, art, music, reading, shell collecting and genealogy. It was genealogy that fulfilled her deep-seated respect and devotion to the previous generations of her family heritage.
Ann was preceded in death by her parents, James W. and Annie Bell Allison; her daughter, Allison Lee Martin; and her brother, James R. (Jim) Allison. She is survived by her son, Joseph S. Martin, Jr. of Carmel, Indiana; a grandson, Brent Brooks (and Katie) and two great-grand-daughters, Avery and Cora of Alachua, Florida; and an uncle, David Samuel Allison (and wife Diane) of Lexington, NC.
The family would like to express their gratitude to all family members and friends and all who came to help during Ann’s illness. The family offers a special “thank you” to Debbie Edmondson, Dee Miller, Les Allison and the wonderful staff of professionals from Hospice.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in honor of her daughter Allison Ann Martin to Freedom House at PO Box 39 Summerfield, NC 27358.
