Allene Rierson Pearson

Allene Pearson, 100, of Summerfield went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 19, 2022.

A memorial service will be held at 11AM, Saturday, May 14, 2022, at Wilkerson Funeral Home with Hospice Chaplain Melissa Fretwell officiating.

Allene was born youngest of nine children to the late Walter Rierson and Anna Moser Rierson in Rockingham County. She graduated from Bethany High School. Allene was able to live independently until she was 99 years old. She took great pride in mowing her own lawn until she was 95 years old. She dried fruit and made wonderful fried apple pies and Japanese Fruit Cakes. She would often share her fruit pies with friends at the Bethany Community Center. Allene was the family historian and enjoyed sharing her stories with family and friends. She will be greatly missed.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Haywood D. Pearson; brothers and sisters, Thelma Ledbetter, Lillian Snyder, Trula Neal, Lonnie Rierson, Lester Rierson, Clady Rierson, Percy Rierson and Otis Rierson.

She is survived by her niece and caregiver, Hilda Holt and a loving extended family.
