Aileen Oakley Draper

Aileen Oakley Draper, 98, formerly of Reidsville, passed away on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, at Carolina Caring Sherrills Ford Hospice House.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, August 21, 2026, at Wilkerson Funeral Home with Dr. Greg Robertson and Dr. Ron Boswell officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Aileen was born, July 14, 1928, in Rockingham County to the late Thomas Clevland Oakley and Edna Roberts Oakley. She worked at Creighton Inc. until her retirement and was a member at Calvary Baptist Church for some 50 years. Aileen was very active in the church until her health declined. She was married to the late William Russel Draper for 55 years.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Elmo and Henry Oakley; sisters, Mary Rhodes, Esther Durham, Ruby Nelson, Mabel Rhodes, Louise Oakley and Mildred Oakley Leake.

She is survived by her daughters, Mary Jane Draper and friend, Phil Morgan, Ann Draper Boyte and husband, Michael; step grandchildren, Brittany Sutliff; Misty Crone and Jacob Crone.
