Nellie Allison Pulliam

Nellie Allison Pulliam, 99, went to her heavenly home on Wednesday, September 25, 2019. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, September 28, 2019 at Wilkerson Funeral Home with Pastor Wendell Edwards officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Nellie was born in Rockingham County to the late James Richard Allison and Fallena Moore Allison. She was a long time member at Grace Covenant Holiness Church and retired from the American Tobacco Company with 31 years of service. She loved cooking & singing, traveling and spending time with family. She was a true prayer warrior. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, George Washington Pulliam; daughters, Patricia Pulliam Madison, Ruby Pulliam Rook and Vera Pulliam Brown; brothers, James Allison, Jr., Johnny Allison, Jr.; sisters, Virginia Sawyers, Alice Saunders, Violet Kennon, Pansy Applebee and Annie Allison. She is survived by her grandchildren; Tammy Madison Todd (Jonathan), Debbie Madison Durham (Jerry), Rhonda Madison Edwards (Wendell) and Gene Rook (Connie); great grandchildren, Amy Ferrell Wilkerson (Joshua), Elizabeth Ferrell, Seth Durham, Madison Durham, David Edwards, Daniel Edwards (Nicole), Stefanie Rook Long (Calvin); great-great grandson, Jayce Edwards; great-great granddaughters , Emzlie and Analyn Long; brothers, David Samuel “Sammy” Allison (Diane); special nieces, June Thacker and Ann Martin; special nephew, Sammy Allison, Jr. along with a host of nieces and nephews. The family will like to extend a special thank you to her caregivers, which allowed her to live out her wishes to remain at home, Ramona Martin, Bethany Martin, Jeri Owens, Lisa Rigney, Kendall Rigney, Annie Ellington, Daisy McCollum, Elisha Edwards.
