Franklin Harlow Goins

Franklin Harlow Goins, 79, passed away on Friday, November 30, 2018. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at Wilkerson Funeral Home with Rev. Greene and Rev. Edwards officiating. The family will receive friends at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy, Sunday, December 2, 2018 from 6-8 PM and at Wilkerson Funeral Home on Monday, December 3, 2018 from 6-8 PM and other times at the home of Chuck and Shannon Goins. Franklin was born in Surry County to the late Charles Franklin Goins and Larmie Lee Goins. He was an avid UNC basketball fan and he was a dedicated fisherman and outdoorsman. He loved to work in the yard, gardening and his beloved dog, Buster. Most of all he loved the Lord and his family. His sense of humor will be greatly missed. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by the mother of his children Shirley Ann Goins; children, Frankie Goins, Lorie Pegram and his dog Rufus. He is survived by his wife of 9 years, Treva Galyean Goins; children, Chuck Goins (Shannon), Lisa Trenner (Jim), Lynn Goins (Ashley); Step children, Anita Caudle (Robert) and Tim Beasley; grandchildren, Paige, Jordan, Josh, Alyssa, Austin and Kasey along with 9 great grandchildren and a large extended family. The family would like to offer a special thanks to the caring staff of the Trellis employees that worked with Forsyth Medical Oncology. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mr. Goins honor may be made out to Kate B. Reynolds Hospice facility at 101 Hospice Lane, Winston Salem, NC 27103.
