Effie Dickerson Denny

Effie Dickerson Denny, 92, passed away on Monday, February 4, 2019 at her home surrounded by her family. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM, February 8, 2019 at Reidlawn Cemetery. Effie was born in Avery County to the late Andy Dickerson and Cora Guy Dickerson. She retired from American Tobacco Company after Thirty nine and one half years of service. She then went on to work another ten years with Brown’s Summit Conference Center. She was a member of Bible Fellowship Assembly Church for many years and loved to sing and play music. She loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and was a servant to all. She never met anyone she wasn’t willing to help. She will be greatly missed. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years Claude Thomas Denny and son, Dwight Dale Denny. She is survived by her children, Thomas Denny ( Kathee), Dean Porterfield ( Danny) and Bruce Denny; grandchildren, Tammy, Thomas Gray, Phillip, Mark, Bruce Aaron and Timothy Dale; 14 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren and a large extended family.
