Charles Thomas "Tom" Lanier

Charles Thomas “Tom” Lanier, 78, of Reidsville, passed away May 3, 2021 at his home. A memorial service will be held at Wilkerson Funeral Home on Thursday, May 6, 2021 at 11:00 AM. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Tom was born in Portsmouth, Ohio to the late Charles Anthony Lanier and Marrilynn Diener Lanier. He served in the United States Marine Corp and retired from Equity Meats and worked as a business agent for the U.F.C.W. Union. He was a published author and a member of the Writers Guild of Rockingham County he was also very active with the Rockingham County Art Festival. Tom wrote the book, “A Friend in Need”, numerous short stories and a weekly column for the Greensboro News and Record. He loved hunting, fishing, and the outdoors but most of all, he loved the Lord and his family. He will be greatly missed. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his stepfather, Bruce E Logan. Tom is survived by his children, Michelle L. Ruby (Gregory), Nicole A. Lanier, Charles T. Lanier Jr., Aaron W. Lanier; 11 grandchildren and several great grandchildren; brother, Eugene A. Lanier (Nancy); sister, Adrienne Lanier Burleson (Jerry) and a large and loving extended family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be mailed to PO Box 201, Wentworth, NC 27375.
