Annie Oakley Tatum

Annie Oakley Tatum, 74, went home to be with the Lord on November 30, 2019. Funeral Services will be held at Wilkerson Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at 3:00PM. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 2-3PM at the funeral home and other times at the family home starting Monday, after 2:00PM. Annie was born on March 22, 1945 in Rockingham County to the late Aaron Oakley Sr. and Elizabeth O. Williams. She graduated from Wentworth High School and went to work for Dupont of Martinsville, VA and later retired from Unifi-Sans of Stoneville, NC. She was a hard worker who loved her family more than anything, but also enjoyed her dogs (Yoda, Boo, and Chloe), sewing, gardening, and family gatherings. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings, David Oakley Jr., Helen Haizlip, Danny Oakley. She is survived by her children, Tammie Shelton and husband James, Penny Smith and husband Timmy, Roger Haizlip and wife Becky, Travis Young, Tim Haizlip, Todd Young; grandchildren, Tiffany Shelton and fiancé Steven Baumann, Matthew Reilly and Angel Moretz, Tommy Shelton and Samantha Hall, Reid Reilly, Jacob Thomas, Elizabeth Haizlip; great-grandchildren, Bentley Baumann, and one who is expected in June 2020.
