William Milton Yates, Sr.

William MiltonYates, Sr. 89, of 7444 Friendship Church Road, passed away on Friday, May 5, 2017, at his home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM on Monday, May 8, 2017 at New Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Reidsville. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens with Rev. Roy Little officiating. The family will meet with friends at the cemetery. William was born in Stokes county to the late George and Ella Holder Yates. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving in WWII and a retiree of Guy M. Turner Inc. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Billy Yates; brothers, Otis, Luther and Don; sisters, Gert, Lillie Mae and Betty. Survivors include his wife. Kathy Holland Yates; sons, Mike Yates and Ronald Yates; daughter, Lori Williams; granddaughter, Kasey Yates and 5 other grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren; sisters, Nannie, Bessie and Mamie and numerous nieces and nephews.
