Reidsville: Lonnie Norman “Ronnie” Wilson, 62, of Reidsville, went home to be with The Lord on Tuesday, April 18th, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. Ronnie, a braveheart, faced his declining health with courage and faith. He continues his journey with victory and will live with Peace for eternity with Jesus. A graveside funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, April 21st, 2017 at Reidlawn Cemetery with Rev. Allen Myers officiating. The family will only receive friends Thursday, April 20 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Wilkerson Funeral Home. Ronnie was born in Rockingham County to the late Norman and Florence Paschal Wilson. He was formerly employed with Sylvania – GTE for many years and later retired from Henniges Automotive. Ronnie wore his heart on his sleeve always putting others first. Along with finding the deeper meaning of simple things, he always enjoyed projects, including working model cars with Brian, refinishing furniture with Carolyn and anything else that might seem impossible. Ronnie and Carolyn’s relationship started as childhood sweethearts and they cherished their journey as husband and wife. Brian could always count on him as a loving father, but as their lives grew together they developed a deep friendship. Ronnie loved animals and he leaves behind his beloved Shih-Tzu, Lady. Along with his parents, Ronnie was also preceded in death by his brothers, Ellison, Lawrence, Cecil, Glenn and Roger “Bud” Wilson; his sister, Sylvia Echols; his nephew, Paul Echols; his niece, Barbara Wilson Harris; his brother-in-law, Joe Echols; his sister-in-law, Nettie Brown and his other special canine friends, Gyzmo, the Shih-Tzu and Butch, the German Shepherd. Ronnie is survived by his loving wife, Carolyn Johnson Wilson of the home; his son, Brian Lee “Adrian” Wilson and wife, Katie Johnson-Wilson (who has been their pillar of strength and has become the daughter they always wanted); his brother, Paul Wilson; his sisters, Ruby Echols, Maude Denny and husband, James; his sisters-in-law, Becky and Mary Wilson and numerous nieces and nephews.
