Linda Marie Chatman Taylor

Linda Marie Chatman Taylor, 89, passed away on Sunday, July 2, 2017 at North Point Assisted Living with her grandson, Ray by her side.. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 PM on Wednesday, July 5, 2017, at Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Sandy Brown and Chaplin David Fox officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Wilkerson Funeral Home and other times at the home of Glenda Moore, 238 Riverside Circle, Eden. Mrs. Taylor was born in Rockingham County to the late George Balsey and Lillian Bullins Chatman. She was a retiree of Gem Dandy of Madison and was a great seamstress and sewed all her life. She also crocheted, knit and made quilts and clothes and was a very talented lady. She was known to her grandchildren and great grandchildren as “Nanny” and “Tae Tae”. Lorrie said to Nanny, we got our attitude from you, she said, well you all got a “Big One”. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Taylor Bowman; sisters, Pearl Ore, Lillie Mae Bolen, Tecora Sands, Mary Young, and Helen Brock; grandson, Chad Bryant Moore and great grandson, Matthew Kyle Grant. Survivors include her daughters, Donna Vee Taylor and Glenda Taylor Moore and husband, Nelson; son-in-law, Stony Bowman; grandchildren, Catherine Moore and fiancé, Mickey, Lorrie Inscoe, Amy Marie Beane and husband, Adam and Ray Bowman and wife, Donna; great grandchildren, Jessica Grant, Paul Grant, Jacob Beane, Jared Beane Alyssa Beane, Gray Bowman and Ryann Inscoe and special nieces and nephews. As Mrs. Taylor had a “green thumb”, flowers will be appreciated or donations to Amedisys Hospice Care, 2929 Crouse Lane, Suite E, Burlington, NC 27215 who helped in the care of Mom for the last 2 months or Hospice of Rockingham County, PO Box 281, Wentworth, NC 27375. The family would like to give warmest thanks to the staff and director, Kathy Petty of North Pointe of Mayodan for their support, love and kindness shown to Mom and her family.
