Jimmy "Morris" Huskey

Reidsville: Jimmy “Morris” Huskey, 79, passed away at his home on Tuesday, January 10, 2017. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, January 14, 2017, at Christian Fellowship Church with Rev. Bill McKinney and Rev. Russell McKinney officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will take place one-hour prior, 12 till 1:00 PM at the Christian Fellowship Church for family and friends. There will be no formal visitation at the home. If you would like to bring food, please bring it the day of the funeral and place in the fellowship hall for a time of continued visitation directly following the service. Morris was born March 23, 1937 in Rockingham County to the late John Henry Huskey and Bessie Ward Huskey. He was a devoted husband and father. He was a hard worker that included retiring from Golden Belt MFG. Morris was always thinking of others and was known for his “candy ministry.” Everywhere he went he passed out candy and asked people to pray for him. Morris will be remembered for his honesty, integrity and generosity to his family and friends. Above all else, he loved his Lord and exhibited a close walk with Jesus and was a strong prayer warrior. Morris loved his church, Christian Fellowship Church where he was a member over 44 years. Along with his parents, Morris was preceded in death by his wife, Myrtle Owensby Huskey; sister, Edna Wilson; and a brother, Floyd Huskey. Survivors include his daughter, JoAnn Huskey Corum; a sister, Mable Farmer; sister-in-law, Blanchie Sells; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
