Elsie Mae Sharpe

Reidsville – Elsie Mae Sharpe, 91, passed away Saturday, November 25, 2017 at Annie Penn Hospital. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM, on Monday, November 27th, 2017 at Sharon Baptist Church with Rev. Allen Myers officiating. The family will receive friends after service. Mrs. Sharpe was born in Forsyth County on September 14, 1926 to the late Alfred W. Sharpe and Ella Sharpe. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Elsie took great care of her family as they were her top priority as a housewife. She had a strong faith in Christ Jesus and loved her church, Sharon Baptist Church of which she was a member since eight years old. Elsie was raised by Pete and Prudy Small and she went to live with them at eight years old and greatly appreciated her upbringing and care they extended to her. Her hobbies included cooking and sewing and loved camping over the years with her husband. Elsie was a simple woman that worked hard for what they had and was very fugal and wise in their life together. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herman H. Sharpe and a daughter, Pat Saunders, and several siblings. Survivors include her daughters: Amelia Sharp (Wesley) of Stokesdale and Suella Sharpe-Putnam of Reidsville; 5 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
