Clinton Odell Lawrence

Clinton Odell Lawrence, 77, of 1607 Guerrant Springs Road, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, June 5, 2017 at Hospice Home of Rockingham County following a courageous battle with gall bladder cancer. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, June 9, 2017 at Dan River Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Dan Parker officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Odell was born in Rockingham County to the late John Smith Lawrence and Mary Lee Dickerson Lawrence. He was an employee of Williams Trull Tractor for 20 years and later retired from The American Tobacco Company / Commonwealth Brands after 24 years of service. He was a member of Afton Road Primitive Baptist Church serving as a deacon for 20 years. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Eva Chrismon and her husband, Chris and brothers, Thomas Lawrence, Ray Lawrence and his wife, Ollie Jane and Glynn Lawrence; brother-in-law, Otis Johnson. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Faye Johnson Lawrence, son, Jason Lawrence and wife, Cyndie ; grandson, Nolan Lawrence; sister, Edrie Strader and husband, Aubrey; brothers, Elmer Lawrence and wife, Bonnie and Dewey Lawrence and wife, Lorene; sisters-in-law, Gladys Lawrence and Betty Lawrence; brother-in -law, Raymond Johnson and wife, Erlene and sister-in-law, Cecelia Johnson and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews . The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home on Thursday, June 8th from 6:00 – 8:00 PM and other times at the residence.
