Reidsville: Antoinette Laro Marcum, 76, passed away Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at the Hospice Home of Rockingham County. A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 PM, Sunday, January 15, 2017, at Bethesda Presbyterian Church with Rev. Mac McDowell presiding. Mrs. Marcum was born in Cleveland, Ohio on August 3, 1940 to the late Anthony Laro and Joan Neustedt Laro. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Nothing made her more happy than spending time with her grandchildren and family. She loved cooking, shopping, travelling and always enjoyed a good cup of cappacuino. “Toni” as she was called, was very faithful in reading the Bible on a daily basis and her faith was important to her in establishing a serene lifestyle. Her laughter brought a sense of enjoying life to its fullest. Many people and organizations benefitted from her generosity. A special sense of joy came from her two dogs, Susie and Buffee that she loved very much. Mrs. Marcum was a faithful employee of the US Postal System for 30 years of her life. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Lee Marcum. Survivors include her daughter, Jennifer Kimbro and husband, Tommy of Reidsville; step-daughter, Miranda Leigh Cardenas of Burlington; grandchildren: Jake and Graceanne Kimbro; brother, Martin Laro and wife, Linda of Cleveland, Ohio; brother-in-law, Mike Marcum of Michigan; her favorite cousin,, Marilyn Gordon and husband Norm of Connecticut; niece, Deena Franks and husband, Rory; great nephews: Ryan and Rory; and nephew, Marty Laro. In her life, special friends were precious to her including, Jill Campbell, Yvette Whitsett and Marie Manta. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Hospice Home of Rockingham County, PO Box 281, Wentworth, NC 27375. A special thanks is extended from the family to Dr. Zack Hall for his loving and compassionate care and to the hospice nurses for their dedication and sensitivity to her needs in her final days.
