Annie Lou Phipps Costley

Yadkinville: Annie Phipps Costley, 97, passed away quietly late Saturday, April 8, 2017 while at Yadkin Nursing Care Center. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at Penn Memorial Baptist Church at 2:00 PM with Rev. Randy Roberts officiating. Mrs. Costley was born in Mellow Valley, Alabama to the late Beamon F. Phipps and Emily Irene Bailey Phipps. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her passion included reading various books. She loved making quilts and especially giving them to her grandchildren. Along with her parents, Mrs. Costley was preceded in death by her brothers: Lavoyd Phipps, Alvin Phipps and Artis Phipps; a sister, Margaret Keelean; and husbands: Claxton Pitts and Marvin Costley. Survivors include her daughter, Melanie Jordan English of Clemmons, NC; grandsons: Duane Jordan and wife, Sharon of Lewisville, NC, Troy Jordan and wife, Michele of Clemmons, NC and Sean Jordan and wife, Vanessa of Advance, NC; great grandchildren: Britney Jordan, Ashlynn Jordan, Natalie Jordan, Bridget Jordan; and great great grandson, Liam Carlton.
